After I had my first child, I couldn’t find the time to do anything for myself. Between work and family, there was not enough time in the day to do two things I had always loved: exercising and getting together with friends. Not to mention dealing with the guilt of leaving my child after a long day of work to do something for myself. By the time I had my second child, I was ready to get back into shape, meet some new moms and have fun with my baby! A friend of mine told me about stroller fitness and I loved the idea!
Stroller Babes started in the summer of 2012, offering outdoor classes. We currently offer indoor classes in the winter months, and outdoor classes from May through October.
Stroller Babes classes give you a chance to get a great workout while spending time with your baby, all while meeting new moms. It’s multi-tasking, what we as moms do best!
Missy has been teaching Stroller Babes classes since 2012. She hold a Master’s degree in Community Health Education and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She is also an AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, and trained in prenatal and postpartum exercise design.
For 6 years, she coordinated worksite wellness programs all over the United States and is very passionate about helping others to become the healthiest that they can be.
Involving her 3 children in exercise is something that is very important to Missy. She loves to show her children that exercising can be fun.
Missy's favorite part of teaching is being able to share her love of fitness with some of the most amazing moms. The bond that our moms share is incredible.
Laura has been teaching Stroller Babes classes since 2013. Holding a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, an ACSM Exercise Specialist certification, and prenatal and postpartum exercise design, Laura has a great deal of fitness knowledge.
For over 9 years Laura worked in cardiac rehab and exercise testing and prescription. She is passionate about helping others get back in shape, and will ensure that every exercise that you do is safe for you and your baby.
Laura has 2 children and loves to spend time with them outdoors. Throughout the summer, you will see her jogging with her daughter in the stroller, while her son rides alongside on his bike. Raising her children to be healthy and active is a priority for her.
Being a stay-at-home mom, Laura understands the challenges that can keep moms from exercising. She loves teaching stroller class to give moms like herself the opportunity to exercise with her children, while making new friends!
Melissa has been teaching Stroller Babes classes since 2015. She is also a health educator, P90X Live Instructor, and trained in prenatal and postpartum exercise design.
Melissa is so passionate about helping moms get fit, and is always thinking of creative workouts to keep it fun.
Melissa has 2 busy little boys, who love to join in her workouts with her.
